A spectrally selective glazing is a type of glazing that has optical properties which may be reflective to certain wavelengths and invisible to others.
These kinds of coatings do not show under visible light and can reflect both long-wave and short-wave infrared radiation.
Toughened or tempered glass undergoes a hardening procedure that involves heating in a furnace and quick cooling.
It is impossible to cut through toughened glass once the process is complete. However, its surface can be polished up to a depth of 3mm.
This can be due to small impurities and microscopic chipping, scratches and glass expansion due to sunlight.
This and other factors can cause toughened glass to fracture and eventually explode.
It is best to consult a glass professional immediately once you see the first signs of fracture in your toughened glass.
